1、 Compression molding frame and model
Please choose an aluminum frame with better thermal conductivity for the mold frame. Please note that the mold frame must be kept flat and do not use poor mold frames. A mold frame with V-shaped grooves helps with air discharge and is the best mold frame style.
The model must be kept clean, please thoroughly clean the model before molding.
2、 Filling rubber
Excessive or insufficient rubber during filling is an inappropriate molding method. Before molding, please confirm the thickness of the molding frame. The optimal total thickness of the molding rubber should be 1-2mm higher than the thickness of the molding frame. To ensure the integrity of the fine and complex parts of the rubber mold, please cut the appropriate size when filling the rubber, and indeed fill the rubber in the fine and complex parts.
When filling the adhesive, please place the model in the central area of the mold frame, and try to use the same amount of film for the upper and lower layers.
Unclean molding environment and sweat and oil stains on hands can contaminate the rubber. Unclean rubber can cause defects in the rubber mold. Please use tweezers or other tools for molding.
3、 Heating vulcanization
The standard sulfurization temperature is 165 degrees Celsius, based on heating a 10mm mold frame for 25 minutes. For every 1mm increase in sulfurization time of the mold frame, an additional 2 minutes must be added, and the optimal mold frame should not exceed 30mm.
Before adding sulfur, the molding machine must be preheated to the set temperature of 165 degrees Celsius. When adding sulfur, place the mold to be sulfurized in the molding machine and gently press it for about one minute. After the surface rubber softens, proceed with the molding operation and start calculating the molding time.
If the temperature of the molding machine drops by more than 30% of the set temperature when starting the molding process, and the molding machine fails to reach 155oC within 10 minutes, the optimal vulcanization effect will not be achieved. It is recommended to use a molding machine with higher heating power.
The temperature display on the molding machine is not very accurate. Please use a temperature detector to measure the actual temperature on the molding machine when purchasing it, in order to achieve the best vulcanization effect.
4、 Cooling
Before cooling, please use pliers to tear off the heat-resistant cloth.
Natural cooling and water cooling can achieve the same results. When using water cooling, the cooling time can be shortened. The rubber mold still retains its plasticity before it is completely cooled. Do not perform mold opening operations.
5、 Mold making
Using a mold opening aid can result in better rubber molds. Please maintain the sharpness of the mold opening tool. Poor cutting tools can increase the difficulty of mold opening and mold defects, and can easily cause accidents for model engineers.
6、 Save
Rubber should be stored in a cool and shady place, and the optimal storage temperature is between 15-30 degrees Celsius.
7、 Precautions
New rubber has the best performance within three months. Rubber that has not been vulcanized will gradually decrease its rubber performance and shorten its service life as the storage temperature increases. The vulcanization phenomenon that occurs in high temperature environments may ultimately lead to rubber scrap. Please use it alternately according to the storage date. Usually, even after one year in a good storage environment, the same performance as new rubber can be obtained. At too low a temperature, rubber will briefly harden, and usually its original properties can be restored after returning to room temperature. However, excessive storage temperature will accelerate the aging of vulcanized rubber and reduce its service life.
